Out Our Front Door believes that everyone deserves a life filled with adventure, exploration, and immersion into our natural world. That includes people with disabilities.
Out Our Front Door is excited to have started a first of its kind adaptive bike program for people with disabilities! SSSRA is partnering with them for a brief day ride. Out Our Front Door utilizes a range of adaptive tandem cycles that enable all riders to participate to the extent that they are able. Participants will ride for a few miles and have a mini-adventure on local bike paths, stopping at a park or exploring a bit of nature along the trail.
“Bike buddy” volunteers have received extensive training on safe cycling and working with kids with special needs. Family members are welcome to bring their own bikes and join in on the fun! If you have a bike helmet please bring one. If not one will be provided for you.
Due to the generosity of the Edmond and Alice Opler Foundation, this special event is offered free for our residents.
