Join Our Team!

Are you looking for a part-time job with purpose? South Suburban Special Recreation Association (SSSRA) provides recreation programs for individuals with disabilities throughout seven park districts and three recreation and parks departments. Individuals of all ages can participate in arts & crafts, music, special events, field trips, Special Olympics sports and a variety of other programs with the necessary adaptations. In addition to SSSRA’s own programming, individuals can participate in park district and recreation department programs with the assistance of an Inclusion Aide.

Part-time staff must be at least 16 years of age or 15 years of age with a work permit. Drivers must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and complete a driver abstract.

Volunteers

SSSRA programs and activities improve physical and mental health, develop self-esteem, enhance and foster social skills and help residents be a part of the community.

SSSRA strives to provide quality programs and services to meet the growing needs and demands of the communities we serve. Explore the ways that you, your employer/company, your extended family or friends can support SSSRA.

Internships

SSSRA offers internships and fieldwork experience opportunities year round to college students majoring in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration or other related fields. Each experience is constructed to prepare the student for their professional career by combining practical, hands on learning with their educational backgrounds according to SSSRA and university requirements.
